Capital O 1986 Hotel Heritage

There was no electricity from 11 pm to 2 am during my one night stay, and OYO’s service center had no response when I called about it. The sheets were unwashed, with cigarette holes, and there was hair stuck to the bed. The room was extremely cramped. The reception guy was rude and asked for money as soon as I checked in. Total waste of money, with a pathetic level of service. A dharamshala would be a better choice. I’m never booking any OYO room again.

The building looked very bad from the front, like a 50 year old building, just as a comparison. The rooms were small and cramped, smelled bad when we entered, and didn’t look like the display pictures at all. We called service three times to spray room freshener. The main tubelight didn’t work, the bedsheets were dirty, the towels had turned yellow from white, and there were cigarette marks on the mat. We asked for bisleri bottles and found at checkout that a 20/- bottle cost us 33/-, with 13/- tax on water. Please don’t stay here, or at least check the building and rooms before checking in. Don’t trust the pictures.

There are lots of restaurants nearby if you want to keep your hotel bill down. The hotel has every facility, well-behaved staff and 24-hour power backup. It’s a nice budget stay near New Delhi railway station, and everything is better here than at many others. You may not feel at home, but it’s very satisfactory.

The room and bathroom were dirty, there were cockroaches, and the tap water had little black particles in it. Service was pathetic, and reception never picked up when I called. They kept switching off the AC themselves every 20 minutes, so I had to go downstairs to get it turned on again. None of the remotes worked. When I asked for table salt, a boy brought it on his palm.
