Capsule Den Farmstay

We were refused a partial refund for the two days we had left, so we left and found much better places around Delhi for less money. Before that, Kamlesh Bhardwaj had taken our money for what was meant to be a “deluxe” room, and we’d asked him to get it properly cleaned while we went out. We came back five hours later and nothing had been done. The sheets were dirty, the room was freezing, and the bathroom was awful: the toilet hadn’t been cleaned, there was urine in it and on the seat, two used towels were hanging there, and the “shower” was cold and pitiful. We’d landed at 5 AM and were exhausted, so we made do at first and went out to find food. I’d even booked an extra day before arriving so the room would be ready early. The farmstay had apparently closed a month earlier, but we weren’t told when booking or before arrival. We followed the address to a dead end in an alley, called, and were sent to their “International Tourist Hostel” instead. They charged us $86, the same as the farmstay room. After we asked for the refund, there was a lot of back and forth with Kamlesh and strange phone calls with the owner, “Mr. Deepak,” before they refused. Some recent reviews look fake to me. As we were leaving for good, other tourists arrived, and we managed to stop them from being scammed too, so we clearly weren’t the only ones.
