New Hindustan By Backpackers Heaven

We had a fabulous four-night stay, and the staff were some of the kindest and most helpful we met during our two months in India. They let us check in early at no extra cost, something that had only been possible once before on our trip. Mr Manoj and the rest of the team were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and clearly cared about making our stay easier. They can arrange taxis and tours. The location is excellent, on a quiet street but close to plenty of affordable, nice restaurants, bars and coffee places. The metro is five minutes away, and New Dehli station is a ten-minute walk. From there, the express metro to Dehli airport takes 20 minutes and costs only 60 roupies. The area is lively but felt very safe. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, clean and comfortable. There was AC and a fan, plus towels, soap, toilet paper, a kettle, coffee, tea and a bottle of water. Breakfast is served on the rooftop from 8.30am to 10.30am: two boiled eggs, cereals, hot milk, bananas, butter breads and black coffee. Room service offers food, and reception is reachable 24/7. After checkout, we left our backpacks in the lobby for the day. When we returned, the staff let us use a bathroom with fresh towels and soap so we could clean up before leaving. We could then wait and relax in the common area. We’d never experienced such kindness and service before. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in India again.

The staff were helpful, but the room with the circular bed wasn’t available when we arrived, even though our reservation had been guaranteed by credit card through Booking.com, where a no-show would still be charged. We were asked to pay cash or face a 5% credit card surcharge, which goes against Booking.com policy, and then the card machine didn’t work. They moved us to a “family room,” but two beds took up almost all the space, and there was no hot water. After the first night, they moved us again and gave us a couple of nights to get cash from an ATM. The sheets were old, and the property seemed generally run down. I guess you get what you pay for.

The staff were welcoming, polite and always ready to help from the moment I arrived. They made sure the stay went smoothly, and I especially appreciated that they offered honest suggestions about local travel, transport and safety. They never pushed services on me and gave advice suited to my needs. My room at Hindustan by Backpackers Heaven was clean, well maintained and had the basics for a comfortable stay. The location in New Delhi was convenient for getting to main areas, transport and local attractions. I had a great experience and truly appreciate the team’s hospitality and support. I’d recommend Hindustan by Backpackers Heaven to anyone looking for a budget-friendly, safe and comfortable place in Delhi. Thanks for the wonderful service.

We had a great time here. It’s in a very busy neighbourhood, so you really feel like you’re in the heart of Delhi, and it’s easy to get to attractions such as the Red Fort. The rooftop breakfast and chai were delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly helpful, with great advice for Delhi and beyond. Abdullah answered all our questions and made sure we enjoyed our time in Delhi.
