OYO 9448 Hotel Karan Palace

I ended up staying after a long stretch of travel because everyone was exhausted, but I wouldn’t recommend Karan palace to families with kids, couples, or decent people. The rooms felt unsafe, and staff treated guests rudely. Some doors were broken, the blankets were old, sockets were broken or burnt, and the ACs in several rooms didn’t work. They also switched the ACs off a few hours after check-in. Many rooms smelled bad, and the walls had water seepage. I’ve attached some photos I managed to take. I’d booked two rooms through OYO after seeing a rating above 4. One was for my friend’s brother and his family for a day, and the other for my friend and me for two days. They took payment before showing the rooms and accepted cash only, no cards. On the second day, after the family left, the staff member wanted to check me out and back in for the remaining room. He asked for my phone at checkout. When I asked why, he tried to bluff, and I realized he was trying to give himself a five-star rating. I took my phone back and told him I wouldn’t allow it, since it’s a crime and I’d been misled into booking there by that rating. After that, he refused to give me the room because I wouldn’t rate him five stars. OYO didn’t help when this happened. I found another nearby hotel myself for a similar price, then finally got a refund from OYO for that day after a long, frustrating fight.

The rooms were in bad shape, and they wouldn’t change the sheets even after I asked several times. The bathrooms weren’t clean either, and the taps didn’t work. I also didn’t feel it was safe for kids or women, with people drinking and smoking in the open, doors left unclosed. They take payment first, so you’re left choosing between moving rooms and losing your deposit or staying there. I’d say don’t book this hotel.

This place isn’t suitable for families. The room and bathroom were both filthy and unhygienic, and the receptionist was rude. You can’t pay through the Oyo app, and when we refused to pay cash, the receptionist told us to find another hotel. They also took a customer’s phone and tried to post a fake five-star review on the Oyo app without permission or even asking for feedback. Not even one star feels right.

The rooms and toilets were very dirty, and I wouldn’t feel safe staying here with family. Staff behaved rudely, the service and facilities were poor, and the hotel was too expensive. Their transportation service was also bad, with very high prices. A really terrible experience.
