Moustache Delhi - Hostel

I spent nine days at Moustache Hostel Delhi and had one of my best hostel stays. It feels like a community, with a homely vibe, and the food was delicious and home cooked. The property was clean and well maintained, and the staff and managers were friendly, professional, and always helpful. A few things could make it even better: pool tables, water dispensers with disposable glasses on each floor, and one unified WiFi network. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it.

I booked Moustache Delhi early in the morning on 26 May 2026 while traveling to Delhi, and paid the full amount in advance. Since the booking was accepted instantly, I assumed I’d be accommodated reasonably when I arrived. Instead, after traveling and reaching the property in the morning, I was told I had to wait until 1 PM because of their “check-in policy.” I repeatedly asked whether they could make an exception given my situation, but the staff showed no empathy or effort to help. They said, “Agar aapka karenge toh sabka karna padega” and “hamare yaha staff kam hai.” There was no hospitality or basic consideration for a tired traveler. The check-in time wasn’t properly disclosed when I booked through Agoda. It seemed intentionally hidden or poorly displayed, leaving early-morning travelers to pay in full but wait hours for accommodation. I contacted Agoda right away to request a refund because the property had taken full payment but wouldn’t accommodate me. Agoda said Moustache Delhi had refused and was insisting on its policy. Policies are understandable, but they should be transparent, and customer handling matters. Taking full payment from exhausted travelers in the morning, refusing check-in and a refund, and showing no flexibility felt deceptive and unfair. The experience felt more like a scam than professional hostel service. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone arriving early in the morning or expecting humane treatment and transparency.

The dorm was clean and comfortable, and I loved my bed. As a solo female traveler, I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful, which made it feel like home even though it was my first time traveling alone. Moustache Hostel is close to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, so arriving and leaving were stress free. The place has a warm, cozy, and beautiful look. I checked in at 3 AM and checked out at 5:30 PM the same day, but was charged for three nights, 27th to 29th March. Check-in and check-out times aren’t very flexible, so keep that in mind when budgeting. I really enjoyed the stay and would absolutely return.

The washrooms were clean and the dorms were quite nice, but I thought one bed cost too much for what the hostel offered. They served breakfast until 9:30 am, but hadn’t told me the time beforehand, which was disappointing. The hostel itself was nice.
