OYO 36716 Arjun Deluxe Guest House

I'm a visitor from Bangladesh, and this was my first time in Delhi. I had gone to Chennai for treatment, then came to Delhi on 24th August 2024 on my way home. I booked two nights at Arjun Deluxe Guest house, room 201, for 1150 rupee per night including GST, and paid 2300 rupee. I'd asked for an AC room. It had an AC, but I didn't know the controls were outside, and they hadn't changed the bed sheet. Since it was around midnight, I didn't bargain. When I woke up, the AC was off. The help desk said it would be turned on again after 10 am. Guests had no control over the AC or its temperature; it cooled only when the authorities chose. As it was my first time in Delhi and I was out all day, I didn't object. I needed to stay an extra day because I could only get a flight to Dhaka on 27th August, at around 5 pm with Air India. I told the manager, Mushfiq Hasan, and agreed to pay another 1150. Checkout was at 12 pm. On the morning of 27th August, I asked to stay until 1 pm, and they didn't say anything then. I went to Karol Bagh to get my mobile phone fixed at a Samsung showroom and returned around 12.30. There was no guest waiting to check in. I asked if I could stay until 2 pm, and they then demanded another 500 rupee. I refused and checked out straight away, paying Musfiq Hasan 1150 for the day I'd stayed. He then demanded another 350 rupee for VAT and said I had to pay it when leaving. I refused, since he hadn't told me about it and I'd said when booking that I would pay 1150 per day with no extra charge. He wouldn't listen. I was scared as a foreigner and didn't know what to do, and my flight was near, so I paid the extra 350 for what he called VAT and left. I asked for a receipt, but he didn't give me one. I was shocked by the manager's and other workers' behavior, and left Delhi for Bangladesh.

The room was very clean, and the staff were helpful; the manager was friendly too. It felt safe for my family, and we had a great stay. The hotel is good value, about a 7-8 minute walk from rk ashram metro.

The centralised AC was good, and the shower had strong pressure. But the sheets had suspicious stains all over, so we asked staff to change them. They changed only the sheet, and we had to ask again for the duvet cover and to check that it had been done properly.

The rooms are spacious, and the hotel staff and facilities made us feel comfortable. Management and staff deserve a special round of applause. It was a wonderful, comfortable stay. Well done, keep it up.
