OYO 5494 Hotel Odeon Continental

Every room smelled of cigarettes even though smoking was listed as not allowed. There was no hot water, no clean blankets, and not even mineral water. The place was unclean overall. They pushed us to email them a review to improve their ratings. We ignored the request, and they treated us in a very insulting way. If negative ratings were possible, this hotel would deserve the very worst. I would never recommend it.

I booked a room through OYO for my friend for three nights, 26-29 Nov 2018. On arrival, Mr Chand, the property manager, was rude at check-in and demanded the full amount upfront. My friend thought this was because they feared the guest might not stay another night after seeing the condition of the rooms, toilet, and other amenities. The room was very untidy and the bed sheets were torn. The television and telephone were completely dead. Despite several reminders, management didn't take care of customer complaints. Service was absolutely zero. Avoid staying here. There are plenty of good hotels nearby at cheaper rates.

The room was in such poor shape that I cancelled through the OYO app within half an hour. The AC and TV didn't work, the linen was dirty and smelled bad, maintenance was poor, and even the lift was out of order. When I raised it with the manager, he was incredibly rude and told me it was my fate, to take it or leave it, and even challenged me to cancel. I gave OYO my reasons but still couldn't get a refund. I feel awful about both the hotel and OYO. Don't book through OYO without checking the room first, and compare the rating with Google.

At checkout, they asked to see our email and tried to submit reviews for us, which may explain the good OYO reviews. The staff were unhelpful, the room and sheets were dirty, and there wasn't even water in the bathroom until we called for it. Worst hotel.
