The Royal Residency Hotel

A very poor hotel, with awful rooms. It felt very unsafe and isn't suitable for families at all.

The roadside location works well, and the rooms have plenty of space, but they’re poorly maintained. Service was below average, with very few staff around, and even daily room cleaning wasn’t done. The kitchen had rats throughout and felt very unhygienic. There was no free drinking water either. With those room conditions and service, the rates feel a bit high. The larger rooms are all over Rs 2200 per night.

There was no manager, no cleaning or dusting, and no facilities beyond the room. The floor, bed, and towel were dirty, there was dust everywhere, and no soap or water bottle. The lamp was broken and the TV didn’t work. When I asked them to clean, the staff argued that I shouldn’t check in and should seek a refund from the booking site instead. Their behavior was awful, and they seemed ready to fight. Even the worst hotel would be better. Don’t book here.

Every room had a stinking smell, the property is very old, and the bedsheets were dirty. Basic things like Wi-Fi and a kitchen weren’t available. When I asked for the AC to be turned on, the owner demanded extra money, saying, “There’s an AC bill.” Even a Rs 500 hotel is more worth it. Worst experience I’ve had so far, and the owner is completely money minded.
