Just a few minutes’ walk from the main road, the hotel is in a perfect location. Our room was clean and the view was absolutely beautiful. The staff were lovely, and the owner and his wife helped us with every issue and made us feel at home. We had an amazing time, highly recommend staying here, and I’ll definitely come back.

The patio at Norbu House is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view, which is beautiful from sunrise to sunset. The rooms are comfortable and incredibly clean, with Tibetan design touches. The staff are always on hand to greet you with a smile and help with anything that comes up. They also serve delicious food, coffee, and ginger lemon honey tea. It’s a short walk to His Holiness the Dalai Lama's temple, as well as the shops, restaurants and sights in McLeod Ganj. Dharamshala is easy to explore from here too. This is a unique, wonderful hotel with kind, attentive staff, delicious food, stunning views and an ideal location. I’ve stayed twice in the past year and can’t wait to visit again. I highly recommend Norbu House.

Norbu House is so underrated. The owners are thoughtful, the location is convenient, and both the views and food are amazing. They even do South Indian food, which is hard to make in the hills. I’ll always choose Norbuhouse over any luxury hotel chain here!

The people are what make Norbu House special. After I emceed the evening cultural performance, I got back late without having had dinner. The kitchen was already closed, but Mr. Wangdu and his daughter still went out of their way to make me fried noodles at 10.30pm. It was a simple plate, but an act of kindness I’ll always remember. For me, Norbu House is a place of warmth, care and memory, more than just a hotel. I chose a large room this trip despite the prices not being cheap. It gave me space to rest properly and begin each day with my morning prayers, so it was worth it. The slope up to the hotel is tougher for me these days, and walking up and down daily can be a challenge. The open space out front has sadly disappeared under new construction too. Norbu House has long been one of the familiar hotels in Dharamsala. Newer places have opened, but it still has clean, well-kept rooms, good views and dependable food.

The public spaces are roomy and welcoming, and the big balcony and every floor have beautiful views. Rooms are spacious and spotless, and there’s plenty of food at breakfast. The owners are friendly and attentive. It felt like home away from home. I just loved it.
