Mrs Sonia at reception welcomed us kindly and made us feel comfortable from the start. We stayed on Temple Road, McLeod Ganj in January end 2026, and had a really nice experience. The balcony gave us an amazing view of Dharamshala and snow-covered mountains, which felt super peaceful. It’s quiet there but still very close to the main square and Dalai Lama Temple, so the location is perfect. The food was really good too.

The surroundings were peaceful, which more than made up for the short walk or drive to the central market and cafés. Hotel King Castle is a little away from the main square. I stayed for 2 nights during my visit to McLeod Ganj and had a pleasant experience overall. My room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and room service was prompt and courteous throughout. The staff were polite and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. A good choice if you want quiet, clean accommodation with friendly service.

The front desk made check-in hassle-free, and the whole team was professional, warm, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality really sets the hotel apart. It felt like a home away from home!

They let us check out late and kept our luggage since our bus wasn’t leaving until late evening. We’d arrived at 6 a.m. and were given a room early, which made us very happy. The location is great, midway between dharmshala and mcleodganj, and we could easily walk to all the famous places. A must-recommend if you’re visiting dharmshala.

The hotel food wasn’t so great, and I’d suggest they improve the kitchen. For a view, book a front balcony room. The rooms at the back won’t have any view.
