White Rann - The Tent City

It gets cold quickly here, so come prepared, especially since you have to walk from the tent to the other attractions. White Rann Rent City at Dholavaria by Evoke is near the main sights and is well maintained for a temporary settlement. The design thoughtfully reflects earlier civilization and is well executed. The journey begins with the drive along Road to heaven. Staff service was commendable, though the food could have been better. It’s a unique stay available during Rann utsav.

The food serving team were very good, especially Akhilesh at the counter, who was courteous. Room manager Rupesh Kumar was polite, welcoming, and helpful, and the reception and arrival staff were helpful too. They made us feel special from the warm welcome onward. The food was tasty, hygiene standards seemed very high, and the rooms were clean. Golf cart service was like " sne pe suhaga". I’ll certainly recommend a visit to family and friends.

The location can be perfect for white sand if the timing works out, but the lake hadn’t dried this year, so there was no nearby cultural fest. I was looking forward to the sands and left disappointed. I’d suggest this place mainly to people interested in ancient ruins unless the administration confirms white sand is available. It would have helped to know in advance that the location wasn’t ideal this year. Our tent and washroom were clean, and staff were polite and helpful. The dining supervisor deserves a special mention; the fulka-making ladies seemed grumpy. Food was decent, and they accommodated dietary restrictions. The guides were good. We booked for three adults in one tent but got only one set of amenities, like water and towels, and had to ask for the rest. Room service was good when called. There was just one dustbin, in the bathroom, and none in the bedroom.

The place was neat and clean, and the staff were kind, helpful, and wonderful. Special thanks to Sunil bhai for helping out and serving in the kitchen. He’s a truly hardworking person. The whole team made our stay memorable, and we enjoyed it.
