Hotel Maurya

I've never come across a hotel that's so underrated.

We booked two non-AC rooms for Rs 1400 per day each. For that price, they were decent and a little better than we expected. The rooms had a somewhat luxurious feel, with a fair amount of space, two chairs, two single beds, a wardrobe, and a TV. The bathrooms were large and quite clean. Some AC rooms have a bathtub, and one of ours did too. The shower worked well and the water was clean, but the toilet flushes didn't work properly. The hand shower and taps by the tub seemed to leak, with water coming out in different directions. Hotel Maurya is in Dibrugarh's main town, near places like Tibetan Market, Vishal Mega Mart, and V2. It has both AC and non-AC rooms at different prices, along with parking and free Wi-Fi. There's also a restaurant with lots of menu choices, but the prices are very high, so it isn't a good pick if you're after affordable food. Service was mixed. The manager was generous, and we had no trouble with room service at other times. They even waived the cost of the water bottles we ordered, and we were happy with the laundry service we used on our first day. Still, staff could be unresponsive, and sometimes nobody seemed to be at the counter. They said the hotel was open 24 hours, but shut the main entrance shutter right at 10 pm. The non-AC rooms are affordable and offer good value for money, so this is a decent place to stay in Dibrugarh town. There are a few things management should improve to make the price feel more worthwhile.

The warm atmosphere and familiar flavors brought back memories and made the visit feel special. Maurya Restaurant has a wide menu, and the dishes tasted authentic and seemed to use fine ingredients. The staff were friendly and attentive, too. It felt like a place to enjoy old memories and make new ones. Highly recommended.

The food is great, the staff are lovely, and the owner is awesome. Best in town, really good experience. I'll visit again.
