Hotel Tulip

The beach is barely a minute away on foot, and you can see the sea clearly from the rooftop. I had a really nice room, the food was just as good, and the staff were lovely. Room service was the best part. It feels fine to come here with family, friends, or as a couple. I didn't post room photos because seeing it for yourself has its own charm.

One warning first: don't call the number listed here to book. It doesn't belong to Hotel Tulip, and a fraudulent staff member may take your money without booking a room. The hotel itself is at the far eastern end of Old Digha, right by Biswa Bangla Park, with a peaceful, rather wild-feeling spot nearby and the beach about a five-minute walk away. It's a long way from central Old Digha, the bus depot, Digha Station, and Sri Jagannath Temple in New Digha. Manager Mr. Abhishek Prasad was friendly and helpful, as were the other staff. The rooms and atmosphere are good for the reasonable price, though the toilet is small. You can ask for food to be made to your request.

I arrived with a booking I'd confirmed a month earlier, only to be told it wasn't valid because it had been made through an unauthorized person. They named Bijoy Majumdar and called him a "fraud." Don't trust the number on Google, bookings through it aren't being accepted by the hotel. I was told to book again, this time for more money. The whole situation felt like a scam, with awful management. A terrible experience.

We spent two nights and three days at Hotel Tulip, Digha, and found it comfortable and good value. The owner was especially welcoming, polite, and helpful, and the staff treated us well. Our room was clean and well kept, and the in-house restaurant had tasty food at budget prices. It’s only around a three-minute walk to the beach, which made getting there easy. A good affordable choice for families and budget travelers.
