Country Club Valley Vista

We stayed four nights and spent one full day just relaxing at the resort, which suited its quiet hill setting about 5 km from Kodaikanal town. On other days we explored nearby places. The room view was lovely, especially in the morning with clouds around the hills, and the calm surroundings felt refreshing. Staff were polite and helpful, and the property was clean and well maintained. There’s a games room with table tennis, carrom, foosball, snooker and chess, plus a kids’ play area. The restaurant is handy, though the menu is limited and prices are high. Great for nature and a break from crowds. If you’re only there for two days of sightseeing, travel to the main attractions may feel like a bit much. Having your own vehicle makes the distance less of an issue.

The bay window had a really pleasant view, but the room itself felt too small, especially with a baby. We had booked nearly a month ahead through our Country Club membership and expected better facilities and service, including a more comfortable or larger room. Food was very expensive for what the stay offered. It was manageable, but the room arrangements and service left us unsatisfied. More of an okay experience than a memorable one.

The room wasn’t very clean, and the washroom had an awful smell. The mattress left us with sore backs and muscle cramps, and the food was so bad we had to get parcels from outside. The TV had no smart connection. On the better side, the location and view were very good, the Wi-Fi worked great, and the staff were friendly. Check-in and checkout were on time, housekeeping was punctual and diligent, and the bonfire with music was entertaining.

We spent three nights at Kodaikanal Country Club (Valley Vista), in a family room that was excellent, neat and clean. It’s a little far from the city center, but that suited us because the peaceful, picturesque side of Kodaikanal was what we wanted. The food was worth it too, although the menu was somewhat limited due to the current commercial gas situation. A very pleasant stay for a family getaway.
