OYO 13838 Ramana Holiday Inn

The rooms themselves were okay, and there are also suite rooms in a homestay building. But our experience with the staff and management was awful. We were 12 people and took a homestay room at 9 PM, clearly saying we'd leave after noon; the receptionist on duty agreed. At 12:30 the next day, while we were clearing the room, they suddenly said checkout was 10 AM and demanded 2500 rupees as an extra day's rent. They locked our car and threatened that we were outsiders and wouldn't get support, saying they were locals, until we paid. They also asked for money for room cleaning. I don't know whether it was the staff or management who picked the fight, but the whole thing felt cheap and threatening. I would rate it zero if I could, but gave one. The management was the main problem, along with the receptionist. They seemed money-minded and showed no ethics. Since we were local, they threatened us by saying tourists from outside wouldn't get support here, and forcibly collected extra money. There was no real room service, so you had to fetch anything you needed yourself. In a cold place, there wasn't even a kettle in the room, and hot water was supplied only for one hour in the morning. They kept control of the geyser switch too. Think twice before booking. That was what happened to us, and it could happen to you as well. I'm not sharing hotel photos.
