Ponnis Hotel

We had a comfortable stay here. The rooms were spacious and well kept, and there was plenty of basement parking. The hotel is just 200mtrs from the temple entrance. The owner and front desk helped us with directions and guidance for Darshan. I'd recommend booking here when staying in Palani.

There’s a good amount of room to move around in the rooms, and parking is plentiful. Being close to the temple entrance is a real plus when choosing this place. The bathroom door latch was a bit hard to use and needs attention.

I stayed one night with my family. Check-in was easy, and staff helped carry our luggage to the room. The covered parking was a plus, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained, as were the spotless toilets. It’s a new hotel. There's no dining facility, but plenty of food options are within a five-minute walk. The temple is also walkable, with electric buses running to its different gates. Beyond a comfortable room, there aren't many activities or amenities, but the hotel delivered what it promised. We had a pleasant stay, and I'd consider returning for a temple visit.

The only real drawback for me was a funky sewage smell that came and went in the lobby. Otherwise, this is a strong 2-3 star choice in central Palani, with covered parking and a lift. My standard room was spacious and well designed, with a king bed, two chairs, vanity mirror, wardrobe, TV, AC, and plenty of counter space. Linens were clean, towels were thick and not too worn, and the modern bathroom was clean and fairly well kept, with Jaguar fittings, prompt hot water, and good first-floor water pressure. Staff were helpful and gave good directions to Murugan temple. I'd recommend it to people visiting Palani on a temple tour.
