The beautiful views and polite staff were positives, but this resort is far from the city and getting there means tackling a very steep road. That could be difficult with elderly relatives or young children. A vehicle suited to steep roads might make the trip easier. From my point of view, it seems better for singles or couples than families. We couldn't find milk for our child, the restaurant choices were very limited, and being isolated made it hard to reach other places or find another restaurant. The steep road caused more trouble when my mother developed inflammation in her toes after walking on it. We also had no power at the hotel for nearly 4 hours. After a long drive, we couldn't even use the restroom, which was very disappointing. Although we arrived after the scheduled check-in time, our room wasn't ready immediately. Hotel services only resumed when power came back, since the generator wasn't working during the emergency. We ended up booking another room elsewhere and didn't receive a refund. Please weigh these issues carefully before booking.

There was no heater, the TV didn't work, and the bedsheets and pillows were unclean. We also had no towel or soap, and the food was average. The geyser wasn't working, so I had to bathe in cold water in 12°C weather. I was charged an extra ₹500 for early check-in. Maintenance and service were poor overall. It wasn't worth the money, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to other travelers.

The peaceful atmosphere made for a relaxing visit, and the staff were polite, supportive, and provided nice service. We spent 3 days at Jacks Hill Resort. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we enjoyed the really good breakfast each morning. A happy, satisfying place to stay in Kodaikanal with family or as a couple.

Breakfast was hot and tasty, though getting it was frustrating. They said it started at 8:30, but we waited around 30 minutes while food went to rooms first. Nobody told us we needed to order in advance. Breakfast was included, but it didn't feel like proper service. When we asked for tea or coffee, they said the time was over, even though we'd only just got breakfast and there was no tea then. The same thing happened both days. We booked an elite double room through Agoda for two days, but the room we got didn't match the listing. Since we were mostly out and only came back to sleep, it wasn't a big issue for us. The manager was helpful, though the staff need improvement. At check-in the room and bathroom weren't properly cleaned and weren't usable, and there were stains on the bedsheet. I told the manager, and by the time we returned the room had been cleaned and was okay to sleep in. The tap water was yellow. At checkout, the reception manager took my phone, saying he needed to check the booking status, but instead opened Agoda and selected “recommend” in the review section. That's not acceptable. For the price, the place is okay, but cleanliness and service need work.
