There’s a 500 MB Wi-Fi limit per room, not GB. The temple bells and drums may bother some people when there’s puja or another function going on. Otherwise, the place is neat and clean, and an Oyo attendant was helpful. It’s right beside Ernakulam Shiva temple. The Oyo breakfast menu was excellent, limited but enough.
The rooms are small but clean, and the service staff are welcoming. The hotel’s amenities are very limited. There’s a vegetarian restaurant, with a small breakfast menu, but the food is tasty. It gets crowded because it’s opposite a temple and the district court is in the same lane.
The quiet, tree-filled setting was a real plus, and town was still easy to reach. We stayed in Room 1, two of us for 1320/- for the night, and it felt like a very smart choice. The old-style rooms have terracotta floors, while the bathroom is roomy and spotless. Housekeeping clearly puts in effort. OYO 8268 (Gokul Ootupura) has well-appointed rooms at rates that compare very favorably with pricier upscale hotels. There’s a civil court just a few metres away, but the area stayed calm throughout the day. I’d consider OYO 8268 again when I’m in Kochi and would gladly recommend it to other travelers.
The vegetarian food was delicious, and the service came with friendly smiles. A very good hotel.
The ambience was lovely, and the food was so tasty. I really enjoyed it and hope to come back.
