Masi Residency

I work in the hotel industry, so I know how room rates and check-in and check-out times are calculated. This was an ordinary AC room, not a star hotel, and good AC rooms in the Ernakulam area can easily be found for around ₹1,500. I checked in early Sunday morning and understood that standard check-out would be at 12 PM the next day, Monday. I specifically asked the receptionist, Najmuddin, what the total charge would be for staying until Monday morning. He agreed to ₹2,000 for the entire stay. I asked to pay ₹1,500 upfront and the remaining ₹500 at check-out, but Najmuddin insisted on full payment immediately. Trusting what he told me, I paid ₹2,000 on Sunday morning. At check-out, the staff changed their story and claimed I owed another ₹2,000. When I confronted him, Najmuddin lied to his manager and said he had quoted ₹2,000 per day. The morning reception staff and manager backed up his claim and acted innocent instead of checking their records. I was charged ₹4,000 in total for a room whose agreed price was ₹2,000. I believe they scammed me. The management felt unethical and the customer service was disgusting. As a hotel employee in this area, I was shocked by what felt like daylight robbery. I would never recommend this place.

I called about an important family function, and the manager handled the call. Before I could finish explaining my concern, he was already being very rude and shouting at me. It showed no respect, manners, or patience. If this is how they treat people before a stay, I wonder how they treat guests afterward. That call left a very bad impression. If you're considering masi residency, think again before choosing it.

I called Masi Residency to ask about booking rooms for a family event, and the manager was rude and shouted unnecessarily instead of answering my questions patiently or courteously. I was deeply disappointed by the unprofessional handling of the call and the disregard for customer service. It came across as arrogant and poor at dealing with people. If enquiries are treated this way, I doubt the service after booking would be any better. I'd advise others to think twice before dealing with this hotel.

The metro station and bus stand are very close, which made getting around easy. The room itself felt cramped, though, with poor lighting and a tiny washroom. Bedsheets were stained and slightly torn, and the general neatness was only okay. I also saw a couple of cockroaches during our stay. Better cleaning and maintenance could make this a much better experience.
