Hotel Midway Residency

Bedbugs in the bedding were the worst part of my two-day stay at Hotel Midway Info City in Gandhinagar, which I booked for exams after seeing the “3-star” label and good-looking online reviews. I found lots of live bugs crawling in the bed at night, and the sheets had gross, unwashed stains. The view from my room was a concrete ledge piled with trash, construction wires, and other debris, bad enough to make me feel sick. Basic upkeep was poor throughout. The elevator was filthy and badly maintained, and the room walls were scuffed and dirty. There was no running water in the washroom when I arrived. The manager admitted there was a water problem and offered one plastic bucket of water. The lights in my room were broken, leaving it dark and depressing. After I asked several times, the manager made empty promises and nothing happened. Eventually he suggested moving me to a lower-category room than the one I had booked. The hotel says it has parking, but there was no dedicated parking. I had to leave my car on the road by local shops and hope it wouldn't be towed or damaged. The only bathroom toiletry provided was a cheap local-brand soap bar, sabun tikiya. There was no shampoo, moisturizer, hand wash, or conditioner. The reception controls the AC with a master switch and cuts the power at random, apparently based on their mood. I don't understand how this place gets high ratings or is allowed to take bookings. The 3-star label and positive reviews didn't match what I found. It's unhygienic, missing basic amenities, and dismissive of guest complaints. If you're a student traveling for an exam, or anyone expecting basic hospitality and peace of mind, avoid Hotel Midway Info City Gandhinagar.
