FabHotel Kutighar Regency

This was my last time booking with Fab hotels. I paid in full for Sonamla retreat, but when I arrived they wouldn't let me check in because that hotel had no tie up with Fab Hotels. The company made the mistake of booking me into a property they weren't partnered with, then moved me to Kutighar, which was much farther away. They said it was just 900 mtt, but it was 4 km from the original location. When I reached Kutighar at 4 pm, the shutters and reception were closed. I found a phone number on the sign, called, and waited five minutes. The receptionist woke up and opened the door. Check-in itself went smoothly. The room was okay, but there were no toiletries, no restaurant option, no working wifi, and the phone signal in the room was pathetic. When I asked about food, he bluntly told me to eat outside.

My stay was booked from 2nd may to 6th may at Fab hotel sunamla retreat, but Fab hotels moved me to Fab hotel Kutighar residency without asking. When I checked in at night, the receptionist said I had to leave on 5th may because the property was sold out, even though my booking ran through the 6th. Fab Hotels should have checked availability. They also wouldn't provide breakfast, saying milk and bread weren't available in the market. This is a basic necessity. The poori subzi they served was so bad that people in our group puked. They didn't change bath towels, saying they had no extras for daily changes, and there were no bathroom amenities. Highly not recommended.

The hotel was well furnished and good throughout, from the staff to the cleanliness. There's also a taxi stand right beside it, which makes getting around locally easy.

I really enjoyed my Gangtok visit last December. The hotel sits a little away from the main town, but taxis are available outside at all times.
