The quiet Forest Colony neighborhood and big veranda were highlights. Sitting there with the hosts over drinks was peaceful, and time just passed. The views were good too. Mr. Dikendra Gurung, the caretaker, was warm and welcoming, smiling and chatting with me. The owners live on the same premises and share the kitchen and bathroom, which gave it a local-family feel that I liked. Though I booked a dorm bed, I got a private room with two single beds. Wi-Fi was a pleasant surprise, although it didn't always work. The price was quite affordable. On the downside, the room was small and dingy, and the gravity water filter wasn't adequate, so I relied on bottled water. The shared bathroom could be occupied when I really needed it, since several owners used it. It's around a 20-minute walk from the market, so a bit remote if you're there to explore MG Market. For a solo budget traveler, it's a peaceful place with friendly hosts you can get to know. With family, or if you expect hotel-style amenities, I'd skip it.
