We had agreed on a room and its rate when we first arrived. We stepped out to compare other hotels, then came back about 30 minutes later planning to stay here. At check-in, they put us in a different room. The place was filthy and smelled bad, the sheets and linen were dirty, and faeces were coming up in the toilet. We put up with it. At checkout, the man at reception demanded extra money. He wouldn't give us his name, and when my wife explained that we'd been given a different room, he shouted at her and was rude. We ended up paying more to avoid further trouble. A long-haired man we'd spoken with earlier was kind and gentle with us, though. We came on other people's recommendation, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The owner should pay attention to the staff they've hired and make sure they treat tourists politely.

Phurba deserves a mention. He’s young and very respectful. The staff are well-mannered, so please be respectful to them too. Even when some things may not meet everyone's expectations, they try their best to help. We had a wonderful, budget-friendly stay at Hotel Alpine Crest with our family of five. The owners were polite and welcoming, treated us like family, and gave us excellent guidance for our trip around Sikkim. The staff took care of everything, and the food was delicious. Their personal warmth made the place feel like home. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gangtok.

The rules in Sikkim seem good, and the place is clean with no dirt around. The market closes early, and people follow the government rules. We found the people in Sikkim and Darjeeling very nice and respectful to visitors. The people at Alpine Crest hotel were kind, helpful, and spoke pleasantly. The food there was good too. Darjeeling and Sikkim are lovely places, and really, everything there is good.

We couldn't sleep properly all night because there were mosquitoes everywhere in the unclean room, and I was there with my family. The bathroom greaser didn't work either, and the Wi-Fi was barely usable. When I brought these problems up, the staff didn't seem to care. A big letdown for the price, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The rooms had a great view, and the hotel is very close to M.G Marg. The owners were friendly and room service was very good. We were quite satisfied with our stay, and I'd definitely recommend it.
