Hotel Jignam

The prices are very budget friendly, and the rooms and staff are pretty awesome. The staff are polite and respectful. For a Sikkim trip, you can stay here after reaching Gangtok. M.G Marg Mall Road is very close, within walking distance. I’d pick this hotel for either a short or long stay, especially compared with some other Gangtok hotels.

We paid around 500 per night in mid-February through Goibibo, and for that price it was a great deal. The room was large, spacious, and clean. The sheets, soft comfortable blankets, and washroom were clean too. They provided pocket shall and a towel, and warm drinking water was available on demand. A few things didn’t work well: our ground-floor room got pretty cold at night, with no heater available. Housekeeping wasn’t offered, though maybe it was available on request. Free WiFi didn’t reach our room; the reception area had coverage, but even there the bandwidth wasn’t enough to use the internet. I also posted this review on Goibibo, where I booked. Recommended for the price.

Food was good, mostly Bengali style, though choices were limited. Service was very good and usually prompt. There was a working geyser, so hot water was available 24*7. I got the hotel cheaply on Goibibo, and for that price I couldn’t ask for more. It’s a 2 star place with clean rooms and a few amenities. It advertises WiFi, but it was hardly available, and when it did work, the speed wasn’t great. A decent stay if you get it at a lower price.

Every corner was neat and clean, and I felt at home. The hotel had all the facilities. The owner, Jishu, was a charming and helpful guy who kept guiding and supporting us during the tour. The manager, Nithai Da, was kind, well-behaved, and helpful too. I really enjoyed my time there. One of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
