Hotel Pineridge

The location is the only good thing. The room and washroom were unhygienic, the bedsheet and blanket were unclean, and there was a terrible smell in the room. Wi-Fi is available, but most of the time there's no internet. Room service was awful. Worst experience ever. Don't stay here, pay a little extra and find a better hotel.

We paid 900 RS per day during the first week of March in 2024, which felt quite cheap for Gangtok. Getting there is easy, especially for people with arthritis, since there’s no uphill or downhill stretch and MG Marg and New Market Road are about a three-minute walk away. The owner was nice, too. The rooms felt a bit dingy without windows, though, and the water supply wasn’t enough. The food wasn’t that great either. The location is really the main plus.

It’s in one of the best spots in Darjeeling, and the building is a heritage property, but it’s badly maintained. Our room hadn’t been cleaned, and neither had the bed or bedsheets. I hope the management improves things so travelers can enjoy staying in this heritage building.

There wasn’t even drinking water available in the room, and when we asked for some, they brought it from the bathroom. There’s no Aquaguard, so you have to buy bottled water outside. The manager was extremely rude, and there was no room service. We were charged 1800 for a double room, which didn’t come close to matching the room quality. They seem focused on taking money without providing proper service. I’d tell people to never stay here. It was a horrible experience, below one star, and I left angry and disappointed.
