Omega Inn

Please don’t get caught by the beautiful room photos on the agoda page. We stayed one night, from 24th May to 25th, and this was a miserable experience. When we checked in at 9pm, there was no water in the bathroom and no manager around. We kept asking for help and got no response. The person at reception kept saying water would come soon, but it never did. We’d booked double occupancy, but when we asked for a second bath towel, he said the weather was bad and the towels were wet. The power outlets didn’t work either, and we were simply told they wouldn’t. They also tried to charge us 50 per person as a tourism tax. When we asked for a receipt, he just said not to pay. Then, before checkout, they cancelled our booking on agoda so we couldn’t leave a review after checking out. What a masterstroke. There was no owner or manager to respond, and the staff were pathetic. Anything else would be better if you want a peaceful night in gangtok. Pay 500 more and stay at one of the reputed hotels on mg road for a hassle-free stay. Hotel Omega INN is a scam in gangtok, more like a dharamsala for 200 a night, while even a basic homestay is 1000% better.
