OYO 26996 Heritage Sikkim

I stayed for three days and found it a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms well kept, and the staff were great. They served a good breakfast and helped me plan my journey. The price was reasonable too. I forgot to take photos, but I’d highly recommend it.

Getting here is easy, and there’s a medical shop on the ground floor. At the end of mg road in gangtok, the hotel is affiliated with oyo and connected with local taxis and travel planners, so you can arrange onward travel into sikkim there if needed. The rooms are well maintained and bright. Free breakfast is included, with lunch and dinner available for an extra charge when requested. The owner and receptionist were great.

We booked a Classic room and stayed three days. It was good, and MG Marg was an easy 10-minute walk away. The rooms were good, but staff wouldn’t greet us or smile. WiFi didn’t work for any of our stay, and they kept saying the server was down. The TV had an expired Tata Sky subscription. After we asked the manager, it was activated for one day, then stopped again the next day. For my birthday, my wife asked them to decorate the room with flowers, balloons, and a cake. She repeatedly asked what it would cost, but they avoided answering until the last day. At checkout they charged a huge amount, at least four times more, saying Gangtok and everything there was very expensive.

The room was clean, and the staff were helpful and cooperative. But the water and electricity kept getting interrupted, and hot water wasn’t always available. The hotel should have a water tank and backup power to meet guests’ needs. The food wasn’t tasty.
