Polite staff and a location in Ghaziabad were the only positives for me. The cleanliness was appalling, especially in the bathroom and toilet. Black tiles, leaking faucets and a yellow toilet seat made the place look unhygienic. One showerhead was broken and there was no hot water. The bedroom walls were dirty, the switches looked as if they’d been dragged through mud, and the small room felt closed in by those walls. The first room we got smelled strongly of cigarettes, and some of the linens had curry stains and seemed unwashed. Staff promptly moved us to another room, where the bed linens were cleaner, but the general hygiene was still awful. The bottled drinking water was chargeable and came in unsealed bottles. We asked twice to have them changed, since it looked like discarded bottles might be getting refilled for new guests. At night the power went out several times, setting off an irritating high-pitched beeping. It was hard to sleep, and we were left without a fan or AC in the sweltering summer heat. I was very disappointed by the quality, especially for a hotel that’s also a private hotel management institute. We stayed with family in the first week of June 2018 and booked because it was part of Oyo Rooms. The negatives far outweighed the polite staff and location, and the rooms weren’t worth what we paid. I won’t trust Oyo Rooms again, and I’d urge them to check the standards of the hotels they endorse.
