SPOT ON 66108 Hotel Awadh Kailash Inn

Apart from the central location, I found little to like here. The room was dirty, the toilet messy, and we got one bed despite paying for two. I’d booked through OYO and paid Rs 599, which didn’t feel worthwhile. We were only there for a few hours to bathe, change, and get ready for darshan at Shri Gorakhnath Mandir, about 2 kms away by e-rickshaw for Rs 10, so the room issues didn’t affect us much. The hotel is fairly near the railway station, but the old building has no lift and a cell tower, which raises a radiation concern for me. Best avoided.

The staff are friendly, food can be ordered to the room, and the washrooms were neat and clean. The rooms were okay, though the non-AC ones are very small. There are no TVs in any of the rooms. Cleaning needs attention, especially on the walls. It’s near the railway station, and rooms can only be booked through Oyo.

It’s about 400m from Gorakhpur railway station, so the location is very convenient. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly, and food service is available. I wish the hotel would end its partnership with OYO. I feel OYO is ripping off customers and hurting the image of hotels like this one. I hope OYO goes bankrupt soon.

They charged me the full amount without showing me the room. The bedsheets and pillow weren’t clean, so we refused to stay, but the hotel manager wouldn’t refund the money. It was booked through OYO. A very bad experience.
