Hotel Golden Park by OYO Rooms

The rooms were hygienic and nice, and the service was good and punctual. Water was provided on time too. Very reasonable.

I stayed nearly 10 days, but the room was cleaned only twice. They didn't change the sheets, pillow covers, or blankets. The owner should teach the short, lean guy at the hotel how to treat customers. He acts as if every guest is a Covid patient and doesn't know how to speak properly. Service needs to improve.

I stayed in room No-202 for two days, from 24/8/21@10pm until 26/8/21 @5:30pm. The sheets were torn, including the pillow covers, and room service was very poor. Neither the telephone nor the internet worked. The password they gave me, Golden Park @2345, never connected. The lift is too small for two people, and the stairs are narrow. There's no way out in case of fire or another emergency.

The rate was Rs. 520 for a non-AC single room, which felt like good value. The room was very clean, and there were no bed-worms or mosquitos. The hotel WiFi was good, with download speed around 250kB/s, and the TV had all the sports channels. The receptionist also helped with transport to local places. There are decent food options close by. Vice-Roy Biryani and Sri Uday Sankar restaurant are right behind the hotel. Vice-Roy Biryani is worth it only for non-vegetarians, while Sri Uday Sankar has good Rs. 100 meals and dosa. The railway station is nearby, and Guntur bus stand is 2.5km away, about 30Rs. by Ola auto. You can also catch buses to Amaravathi from a nearby stop. A few drawbacks: the hotel sign was hard to spot when I arrived, and room service was just decent. There's no special destination nearby worth visiting, with Big Bazaar the best option. The lift is small, so lots of luggage could be a problem. On peak summer days, opening the windows for ventilation in a non-AC room isn't a good option, so it can feel a little suffocating.
