OYO Townhouse 062 Cyber City

The townhouse idea is good, but some things need attention. The guestbook lists Netflix, yet it wasn’t available, and the basement rooms have ongoing network problems and slow Wi-Fi. Ordered food was below standard for the prices. Reception could also handle questions better, since some requests tend to be forgotten. The basement rooms don’t match the others.

I felt relaxed there, with a clean room and a pleasant atmosphere. It’s in a prime location and well organized, and the staff were polite and helpful. Food is available inside the townhouse around the clock. The townhouse theme is the same throughout, and it feels suitable for families. A great stay.

The neighborhood was quiet and clean, and the room, bed linen, and comforter were all in good shape. The main problem was the toilet drainage, which was clogged, especially around the bathing area. I also think the price could come down a little.

The breakfast setup was a mess. There was no kitchen beside the dining area and no caterer, so I don’t think they should advertise breakfast as part of the stay. On Nov 22 we asked for an omelette and were told all the eggs had been boiled. Another time the Masala chai had burnt milk and was undrinkable. Management rushed around trying to get bread for toast, but it got burnt, so we had none. Cleanliness was poor too. Dirty plates and cups sat around for days, and after someone mopped our bathroom with a dirty mop, we had to wipe the floor ourselves with toilet paper. There was still muck in a corner of the shower floor. They didn’t seem to have proper cleaning staff or equipment. The location is also misrepresented as OYO Townhouse 062 Cyber City. It’s beside a construction site and 4 km from Cybercity Gurgoan, so it’s hardly in Cybercity Gurgoan. I arrived with my family from Nov 21 to Nov 24 for a wedding hosted by Rahul Kansal. I was his first guest at this OYO, and had held back some details that Rahul hadn’t mentioned in his review. On arrival, my daughter and we parents were put on different floors. An OYO representative who was there sorted it out by moving us next to each other, even though Rahul had given the manager the room-location request months earlier. The manager hadn’t even looked at the list. From what I saw, he operated from a tablet and had little grasp of the technology, so I doubt he would have managed any better even if he had seen it. If this is OYO’s showpiece, as I was told, then the organization is disreputable. This place put Faulty Towers to shame.
