Regenta Suites, Gurugram

The Front Office team, Mr. Jitender, Ms. Natasha, and Mr. Deepak, gave us a warm welcome and kept things well coordinated. Mr. Dipesh Dhyani and his team, Ms. Meena, Chandrabhan, and Rajneesh, were supportive and polite throughout. We had a relaxing two-day stay at Regenta Suites, Gurugram, with clean, well-maintained rooms, tasty food, and friendly, quick service. The atmosphere was calm and the location easy to reach. I appreciated everyone’s efforts and would be glad to visit again.

The hotel works well for a conference, and we had a good office meeting there. Staff were professional and pleasant, and the restaurant serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. We enjoyed the delicious cream mushroom soup, along with Singapore noodles and a club sandwich. Breakfast was decent, though the selection could be much better. There’s a rooftop swimming pool, plus a boutique room and several conference rooms for different group sizes. The gym is operated by a third party, and using it involves quite a bit of formalities. Our twin-bed room had a sofa, table, wardrobe, tea maker, and other basics. The beds were comfortable, and the small balcony looked out over the city. In Delhi’s harsh winter, the room felt a little cold because it wasn’t insulated well, and there was no carpet. The bathroom was the biggest problem: it was cramped, water from the bathing area ran onto the floor, and the door was a mess. It sometimes wouldn’t lock from inside, and other times it got stuck locked, which was difficult to deal with. The hotel is in Sector 47, Gurgaon.

The guests can use The MG Club gym for free, and it’s large with modern equipment. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed our time there. The rooms were nice, breakfast had a good spread, and the staff were courteous.

I paid 11k for two days, and the bathroom was barely big enough for a small child. The shower space was so tight that I could hardly bathe, with the walls pressing against my hands. I had to change rooms three times. First they put me in a poor room facing the back; in the next one, faulty sensors kept the lights on, and bugs came in through badly fitted balcony doors until the room filled with them within an hour. Then they moved me to old room 628, which had the same tiny bathing area. The hotel seems to charge for its name and location, near Haldiram's, but I’d prefer a 2k-a-night hotel. There’s little else at the property. Those five-star reviews must be fake. Worst hotel.
