The woman at the front desk was warm, polite, and helpful. She upgraded our room to a suite, which made the stay extra special. The whole team were courteous and attentive throughout. Thanks to everyone for the excellent hospitality. Highly recommended!

The package at Taj City Centre Gurugram included two breakfasts and two complimentary beers, but the experience didn’t match what I understood at booking. I was told only certain beer brands were eligible, a restriction that hadn’t been explained beforehand. Benefits shouldn’t come with conditions disclosed only when you try to use them. I also had to check out early because my plans changed, meaning I’d miss one of the included breakfasts. When I asked about adjusting it, they offered only a cold breakfast, which didn’t seem like a reasonable replacement for the full breakfast experience. A flexible or equivalent option would have made more sense. For a premium property, the lack of transparency and flexibility was disappointing, and the service didn’t feel customer-focused. The property and facilities may be good, but these issues took away from the stay. I expected clearer communication and better service from a brand of this stature.

The prices are extremely high, so be ready to spend. I can’t say the experience isn’t worth it, though, because this really is an elevated luxury hotel. My stay was a 9.2/10, and I love this place. Staff were polite and accommodating, even if they often cut me off while I was talking. The rooms were pristine, and the pool and lounge areas were perfect. The Thai restaurant was top-notch, and I highly recommend the lobster. When I didn’t like the duck dish, the chef promptly replaced it with an amazing lamb dish. Everyone was helpful. Sylvester deserves special credit: his professionalism and detailed explanation, including in an interview I found while researching, convinced me to book. He was just as pleasant and professional in person. I think he should be promoted, and I only plan to return if he’s still working there on my next visit. Thanks also to housekeeper Shively and the unnamed woman who worked with Sylvester, both of whom helped me a lot. I’d like to thank a couple of other people too, but I lost their names. The main frustrations were the constant calls and knocks, which made it hard to relax. I had Do Not Disturb on, but there was still frequent knocking, and I kept having to answer the door. At 7 a.m. I got a call asking about phone chargers, when I had no idea what the receptionist meant. I was also bothered by a concierge keeping my 50 rupees after I asked for change. The amount is tiny, but it’s the principle. I asked three separate times over almost 24 hours and still didn’t get it. The lukewarm excuse was that they didn’t know my room number, which seemed odd given all the calls and knocks. Four thumbs up, 6/5 stars. I hope I get my 50 rupees back someday. Promote Sylvester now, he’s an asset to the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently placed near Cyber Hub, Worldmark, Sector 29, and Aerocity. I had a great stay and would happily come back. The grounds were clean, and the rooms were spotless and well cared for, with comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Breakfast had a generous selection, including several live counters for North Indian and South Indian dishes, plus lots of egg options. The gym was also very clean and had plenty of weights and machines.
