The owner’s behavior made an already uncomfortable stay feel unsafe. I saw him looking inside through the gaps in the door. Even when shut, the door had a wide opening where someone could put a hand through and see into the room, so there was no privacy. There were holes in the floor, which made the room unsafe and unhygienic. The bathroom had no shower, and even soap wasn’t provided. The room at Assam Valley Lodge was in extremely poor condition. This place isn’t suitable for families or couples, and management clearly doesn’t care about guests’ privacy or comfort. I strongly don’t recommend it.

We only booked because of an emergency at night and they let us stay, so I gave it 2. The place wasn’t clean at all, the bathrooms were in bad condition, and some taps had no water. Breakfast was bad too, just two pieces of bread. I wouldn’t recommend this if you want a pleasant stay.

The room was too small for a stay. We paid 1500 rupees for one night in an AC room, and the size might have been 400 sq to 500sq at most. Some rooms have been extended into balcony areas with washrooms, but those aren’t air free for an overnight stay and don’t even have windows. We had to pay the Manager a huge amount to get rooms, but the actual rates aren’t like that. I request the Authorities to visit once, please.

Getting around from this lodge is easy: the market, transport, and fast food stalls are all close by. The price seems fair for what you get, and the stay was good enough. Some things could use attention, though, including the TV, bathroom upkeep, room service, drinking water filters, and a way to call staff from the room. Hope they improve these services.

The TV didn't work, and the washbasin had no pipe. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned after the previous guest, and the bedsheets and pillow covers hadn't been changed either. Poor maintenance.
