The senior receptionist on the day shift was rude and arrogant when I asked about the amount of information we had to enter in the register. They asked for valid ID from my mother, which was fine, but also required family members to write their father's names. I had to put down my grandfather's name. I asked, in Hindi, whether we really had to provide so many details since other hotels don't ask for that much. He snapped, “Don't argue, you still have a lot to learn, this is their process.” I understand that they have rules, but he could have explained them politely in front of my family. I'm 23 and have stayed in many hotels with my family, booked them myself, and provided details for my senior citizen parents. No receptionist had treated me that way before. I wouldn't recommend staying here. My family of three, my mother, father, and me, spent one night at this very old hotel. The bathroom smelled of the chemical they used to plaster aluminium on the walls. My senior citizen mother couldn't stay in there for more than two minutes and later fell ill. We asked room service for phenyl, but they sprayed room freshener instead. The smell only lasted a few minutes. When we asked again for phenyl, they said they didn't have any. There are shops right downstairs in busy Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati, so I was disappointed they couldn't get some.

A good stay, with a really convenient location close to the railway station. It's especially handy for food and shopping.

I had a disgusting stay. The room was damp and stank all night, and the in-house restaurant charged too much for stale food. I felt they took advantage of me because I'm a woman.

The staff were pleasant, and the air conditioning worked. The location is useful for getting around Guwahati, with buses, autos, and cabs available, and you can find food nearby. But the room was too small, there was no hot water or toilet jet spray, and they didn't clean it once during my three-day stay.
