Harmony House - A Boutique Hotel

I wish we'd skipped this place during our Arunachal Pradesh trip. I stayed one night, on 5th Jan 2025, and it was my worst experience at a stay. The rooms and bed smelled musty. There was no geyser or vanity kit in the washroom, and they didn't even provide soap or drinking water in the room. When we complained, the caretaker seemed not to care. The property itself is nice, with spacious rooms, but it isn't maintained properly.

During our month-long trip through Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, we stayed at a few hotels and homestays in Guwahati. Harmony House had the best location by far, in a safe local neighbourhood. The walk-up apartment seems to date from the 1970s or early 1980s, which gives it some charm. The rooms suit a transit stay or a visit to nearby attractions, and the large car park is useful if you're driving. Good value. I booked through Airbnb, and check-in was smooth and easy. Owner Mrinmoyee gave me the caretaker's number, then my auto rickshaw driver called for directions. Thank you.

Harmony House is right in the heart of the city and offers travelers a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious, with a simple but elegant style, comfortable beds, fresh linens, TVs, attached bathrooms, and basic toiletries. Every room has a balcony where you can enjoy coffee or look out at the surroundings. There is Wi-Fi throughout, plus laundry facilities with a washer and dryer. Parking, cab service, a front desk, room service, and a doctor on call in an emergency are also available. Guests can cook their own meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Several attractions are nearby: Navagraha Temple is 1 km away, Assam State Museum 2 km, and Umananda Temple and The International Society for Krishna Consciousness are each 3 km away. Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden is 4 km away. Guwahati Railway Station and Assam State Transport Corporation are 3 km away; Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the nearest airport.

A comfortable, nice place to stay in Guwahati, with good service. The caretaker was friendly and ready to help, and they provide complimentary breakfast.
