The food was really nice, and the hotel and everything else were good too.

During a visit for a wedding at Hotel Nakshatra in Guwahati, I got poor attitude and bad behavior from the manager and staff. The manager was especially bad. Think ten times before visiting.

The rooms are lovely and kept in good condition. Breakfast was the highlight for me, with lots of tasty choices. Yummy 😋😋😋😋

Breakfast was the point where our stay at Hotel Nakshatra went wrong. We had booked through MakeMyTrip for the night of 3 August, checking out on 4 August, with breakfast included because we planned to visit Sualkuchi. Almost everything at the buffet was non-vegetarian, and the area looked messy and unhygienic. There was nothing Jain, or even suitable for vegetarians. When we politely asked the buffet manager for Jain food, as previously discussed with the hotel manager, he responded rudely and mockingly, asking, “What do you mean by Jain food?” He kept speaking in a local language, apparently assuming we wouldn't understand. My jija understood Assamese and challenged his tone, and an argument followed. We had told the hotel manager on arrival that we follow a Jain diet and asked about food without onion or garlic. He said it wouldn't be a problem, so we ordered Jain dinner, billed separately. It was average, but we had no complaints. I told my jija we could leave the breakfast and not waste our energy there, then give the hotel a one-star Google rating. The lack of food was bad, but the disregard for guests and basic decency shocked us more. The staff came across as arrogant, insulting, and unprofessional. Before leaving, I paid the dinner bill from the previous night. They gave us a feedback form, which I declined, saying my feedback would be public on Google, Facebook, and wherever the hotel has a presence. People deserve to know what happened. My advice is to avoid Hotel Nakshatra. Hospitality also means how guests are treated, and this place failed us completely.
