There’s potential here, but my room let me down. The bathroom was in poor shape, some electric switches didn’t work properly, and the TV wasn’t working either. Staff were also hard to get help from. There weren’t many of them, and although they’d agree to handle a request right away, they often didn’t follow through. The lack of responsiveness was frustrating. Room upkeep and staff follow-through both need improvement.

The hotel is near a market and a nearby restaurant with good food, and the location is convenient, though the roads aren’t wide. The spacious gallery out front was a nice spot for fresh air. I heard some vehicles at night, but it was mostly quiet. The room itself was small and poorly maintained. There was no latch on the washroom door, no towel or soap, and the TV didn’t work. For the price, it’s still a decent, slightly above-average place to stay.

I come to Gwalior every year and always check in here. It’s a very good hotel. There can be some service issues, but if you speak with management, they’ll sort them out.

I’d read a review saying the owner was rude, but my experience was the opposite. He was very friendly and hospitable, and even extended checkout when I asked. The hotel has a lovely feel, with old architecture. Rooms are along the side walls, with a large hall in the middle.
