Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior

The location is good, in the middle of the city, though the hotel sits inside a colony and traffic often builds up by the exit. My parents stayed with me, and none of us felt the stay was worth what we paid. It wasn't up to the mark and was one of my worst experiences at Taj Hotels. The service was painfully slow. Water took more than 15 minutes to arrive each time I asked, and at check-in and checkout it was hard to find anyone to help carry our luggage to the car. When the room temperature wouldn't change, staff came to look but did nothing except ask us to wait. They said they'd arrange a heater if it still didn't change, then later said no heater was available. For other basic requests, the answer was also that it couldn't be provided then. We waited almost 1.5 hours for a simple bucket and mug and ended up late for our event. The rooms looked good, but the air conditioning didn't work properly. I could change the setting, yet the room stayed at the same temperature even hours later. At this price, I also expected soundproofing, but I could hear noise from other rooms and sounds from our room carried outside. The room experience was a mix of issues.

We didn't stay overnight, just had a meal at the Silver Spoon Restaurant. The Property has a royal look that takes you back to old times, and the pool area and Deck look amazing. It mixes modern and vintage styles really well, and they also have tent stays. We'd like to plan a stay sometime.

Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior hosted our family wedding celebrations on 7th & 8th February 2026, with four events, Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception. Every one went smoothly, and we made memories we'll carry for a lifetime. We highly recommend it for weddings and special occasions. Chef Sumit personally planned each menu around our preferences. Last-minute changes are part of weddings, and he and the kitchen team handled them courteously and flexibly. The food was delicious, and all our guests appreciated it. Soumya stayed by my side over both days, calmly and responsibly taking care of every request, large or small. Deepanjali had been with us from the very first call through the end of the events. Since we're not from Gwalior, we needed help beyond hotel matters too, and she guided us patiently and sincerely. She was a steady support and did a splendid job. Thanks as well to Pramod, Sourabh, Anil, Kartik, Surya, and Ujala for helping coordinate each function. From the first planning through the final farewell, the sales team, security, chefs, service crew, and operations staff all gave their best attention to every detail. Their warmth, dedication, and professionalism made the celebrations grand and stress-free. Thank you, Taj Team, for making our family celebration such a success. ✨

Parking is available, and the hotel is close to all the main tourist spots. Gwalior is really congested, but this place adds some charm to the city. The rooms are spacious and built in a royal style, though the old palace layout means they don't face the pool or garden. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. The restaurant is the main attraction, always full and a palace-like place to dine even if you're not staying there. It was a really good, memorable stay. A great hotel in Gwalior, and it comes with the Taj name.
