It’s close to the railway station, which is handy, and the rooms were neat and clean. The staff were really impressive too. I’d choose it if visiting with family.

It’s only about a 10-minute walk from the railway station, and the hygiene and cleanliness are very good. The tariff is a little higher than at the ashrams and dharmshalas in Haridwar, but I think the hotel is good value for an affordable stay.
The person at reception was kind and humble, but my stay was just one day and the rest of the experience was poor. I was sitting outside in the lobby area when a staff member or manager came over and switched off the AC even though they could see me there. It seemed to be because my paid time was up. That was thoughtless, and I wouldn’t recommend the place.
The location was the only part I liked. At ₹2,500 a night, the stay felt nowhere near worth the price, or even a much lower one. The room lacked basic things like a kettle and complimentary drinking water, and the mattress was uncomfortable. Cleanliness and upkeep were poor too: the toilet wasn’t properly cleaned, the washbasin pipe and jet spray handle were broken, and the taps and shower had broken handles that made them awkward to use. Overall, there was too little attention to cleanliness, maintenance, or guest comfort.
We paid ₹1200 a night for two people and found the room good enough for a short stay. Rio Hotel Haridwar is an average place, but it’s easy to reach by auto rickshaw from the main road, which cost just ₹20 for us. The staff were very helpful, and our stay went smoothly. Jai Maa Gange 🔱✨
