This homestay is a good-value option, with a usually reasonable price for what's provided. The personal, home-like feel gives it something chain hotels don't, and the experience is intimate, relaxed, and authentic without giving up comfort or good service.
Rathna Homestay was hard to leave, and we'd love to come back. Rathna made us huge, delicious breakfasts and dinners, which was a relief since there aren't many places to eat nearby. The owners are so warm and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a wardrobe, table, and chairs, and there was hot water whenever we showered. We also enjoyed relaxing outside on the balcony, which has a swing chair and a bed.
The homemade food Mrs. Rathna cooked was some of the best we've had in India, and she's a truly wonderful cook. She can also make tea, coffee, and breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The accommodation is in a very quiet village about a 10-minute drive from Hampi. Our room was cozy and clean, and the owners were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend staying here when visiting Hampi.
The service was rude, and there was no backup for either water or electricity. They don't even supply drinking water, so you have to buy it at a nearby shop. If you urgently need water, you're left at God's mercy.
The rooms were in great condition, and the owners were friendly. One of my best experiences 😉
