The location was central, which was the one good part. I’d originally booked another fabhotels property, then was told the booking had been moved. At this hotel, nobody seemed interested in handling check-in, and the room was shabby, with an unclean washroom and cockroaches coming out. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t book fabhotels again.

We got to the hotel at 5am, and the reception was open. The administrator quoted 3000, even though the rates on Booking, Agoda, and other sites were under 1700. We eventually bargained it down to 2000. The room was dirty and had cockroaches, and both the toilet shower and bathroom light were broken. There’s a bus station nearby, but the street is noisy. The positive reviews are probably forged.

The digitally enhanced photos were misleading, and the room hadn’t been cleaned for two days. I booked based on hotels listed by Google Maps, which showed Fabhotel. Breakfast was part of the booking, but there was no kitchen available, and tea cost 30 Rs. I couldn’t get through to the Fab hotel helpline either.

Even with my advance booking fully paid, they refused to check me in unless I paid more. They said prices had changed since I booked and that the Fabhotel website showed the wrong price. The rooms were unhygienic and didn’t have basic supplies like soap or shampoo.

The online photo looks a century old compared with what’s actually there. The place wasn’t clean and had cockroaches everywhere; the staff seemed good only once my expectations had dropped. Fab group hotels feel like a trap. They cancelled my booking at a higher priced hotel and shifted me to this one on the day I was supposed to stay.
