Hotel Amogha Residency

An autowala directed me here, and I wish I could rate it zero. We needed a non-AC room for two people, and the receptionist said only deluxe rooms were available, at 1599 per night. He kept us waiting 40 minutes, saying the room was being cleaned. When we finally got in, only the bedspread had been changed and it smelled of Dettol. The walls were dirty, and the bathroom was a mess. The toilet wouldn’t flush, the door had a hole and wouldn’t lock, none of the plug points worked, the TV was unusable, and there were plastic bags in the cupboard. We reported everything straight away. He said he’d give us another room in an hour. The triple-sharing room was a little better than the first, with better walls and restroom, and working plug points and TV, but it started raining and water leaked through the window. We stayed a day because we’d paid half the amount. It wasn’t worth 1600 bucks. Such a dirty place, and staying overnight was a horrible challenge.

The bathroom was full of cigarette butts, the bedsheet hadn’t been washed properly, and the door knob was broken. There was no cleanliness or proper service, and this was a very poor room, not even average. They charge a fixed rate of 1300 rupees per day for a non-AC room.

The management and atmosphere were awful. It felt like staying somewhere near a drain. I’m giving it one star only because there’s no option to rate it lower. From my own experience, don’t go to this hotel.

The hall fans were loud enough to interfere with a speaker, and there was no food available to order. Seating was poor too, and the lift didn’t work. We couldn’t run a program past 11:00 PM because nearby residents complained. I was there for a business meeting, and the place just wasn’t suitable. I noticed renovation work was underway, so I hope they sort these problems out.
