Hotel Surya

I stayed at Hotel Surya from 25th January to 29th January, and the stay was far below an acceptable standard. The rooms were dirty, the common dining area wasn’t clean, pillows had visible stains, and several bathroom accessories were broken. Hygiene and maintenance were both poor. Late at night, rooms appeared to be used for alcohol parties, with doors left open and loud music disturbing the peace. I also had two incidents where someone rang my doorbell at random late at night. Staff couldn’t identify who it was, which left me with serious concerns about guest safety. It wasn’t a pleasant or safe stay. I’d caution others against this property and suggest looking for a better managed alternative.

From 25th January to 29th January, our stay at Hotel Surya was unacceptable. The rooms were unclean, the pillows visibly stained, the dining area poorly maintained, and several bathroom fittings were broken. Loud music went on late into the night while some rooms had their doors open, apparently for alcohol parties. Management did nothing to stop the disturbance, so resting was difficult. Security was a bigger concern: on two different nights, someone rang our doorbell and ran off. The same thing happened outside my in-laws’ room. Staff said the floor’s CCTV camera wasn’t working, so they couldn’t find out who was responsible. Dining staff also kept hovering for tips after each interaction, which made meals feel pressured and transactional. With the hygiene, broken fittings, noise, security problems, and service, this was far from a satisfactory stay. I’d urge others to think carefully before booking and choose a more professionally run, secure hotel in Indore.

The people were nice and accommodating, but room service was hit or miss and the fulfillment time varied. Cold drink bottles cost three times the MRP, and the food was definitely overpriced. The rooms are okay, though water seepage from the AC has damaged the wall, and the pillow covers could be better. It doesn’t feel like a family hotel anymore, with corporate events taking over. People drinking create noise and nuisance late at night, which defeats the point of having somewhere to sleep.

Hotel Surya was nicely maintained, and the food was tasty enough for everyone to enjoy. I was there for my brother’s roka ceremony, and it worked well for a family function or small celebration. It was a pleasant visit.
