OYO 5426 Hotel SVL

The room I was given smelled bad and was dirty. When I reached after booking online, the manager demanded extra money and wouldn't let me check in. I called OYO customer care, they spoke with him, and then he assigned me a room. The location worked well for me, close to Radisson blue and my drop-off point after getting off a private bus. During my Indore trip, I noticed the same extra-charge tactic at all the OYO hotels. They ask for more at check-in, then give you a room after you call customer care. Some people avoid arguing and pay, which encourages it.

I came back for a second visit and had another pleasant stay. The spacious rooms weren't cramped, and the AC and hot water worked. Staff were welcoming, and the cleaning team and room service were kind and helpful. Requests for soap or towels took a while because there seemed to be fewer staff, and I had to call more than twice or three times. In the end I ordered soap from Blinkit. Being allowed to get food from Zomato was a plus. The neighborhood is nice for a quick walk, with Radisson Blue and other food places nearby, plus Jain Mandir for worship and a nearby fair for entertainment. The staff don't bother you constantly, and I had a good stay.

Nothing was ready in the room, even though it should have been prepared by 12 noon: no water bottle, towels, soap, or other amenities. I was also told towels wouldn't be provided, which seemed odd since other Fab properties do provide them. There was a cigarette smell in the room, and the setup felt very disorganized. I'd told the Fabhotel team I would arrive late, but it seems the hotel gave my reserved room to someone else before I checked in at 9pm. It doesn't seem the Fab team regularly supervises the staff or cleanliness. If you're planning to stay in Vijay Nagar, Indore, SVL express is a definite no.

I was fully satisfied. The staff and manager are friendly with everyone, and the rooms are really good too. A great hotel for families or someone traveling alone. Must visit.
