Golden Heritage Hotel

The restaurant was a highlight, with delicious food and outstanding service. The room was clean, well kept, and had everything I needed, and the staff made me feel welcome from check-in onward. golden heritage is well placed for exploring the city center. I had a great stay and would happily return on my next Jaipur (banipark) trip.

About 40 minutes after we checked in, we found two cockroaches on the bed. There was mould on the pillows, and the room looked like a construction site. When I raised it, the manager said he’d arrange another room, then took us to one we’d already been shown that clearly hadn’t been cleaned. He also refused to refund us. Getting towels was just as bad. I asked two men downstairs for two towels, and they told me to wait while they carried on talking and ignored me. Twenty minutes later, one towel turned up, even though I’d asked for two and a bedsheet. The service was awful. It’s a miracle this place gets good reviews, it’s the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The location is great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. But the stay itself was rough. The cleanliness was poor, and many rooms have no windows, which I understand is common in India. You can hear everything through the cardboard walls, ceilings, and doors. During the day that was manageable, but there was music and people talking at all hours of the night, and management seemed fine with it. I slept badly, so as a hotel it fell short. Breakfast was a bit sad too.

It was easy to find, and being near Jaipur Railway Station made getting around convenient. The staff were cooperative, but the receptionist seemed uninterested in helping guests and more focused on money than hospitality. The room was small and had no windows. There were a few cockroaches, the air conditioning didn’t work, and we weren’t given drinking water despite asking several times. The door lock was partly broken and didn’t work properly, which felt like a security concern. The food was overpriced.
