I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re mainly after a very cheap rate and can live with a lot of drawbacks. The location is poor, and getting there means walking through narrow, unlit streets that feel especially unsafe at night. The rooms have no ventilation, and mine was uncomfortable. There’s no room cleaning, and the towels and blankets aren’t well maintained. The blanket also smelled bad. The owner kept telling guests to shut doors and clean the room, which got frustrating. He seemed to interfere with guests too much instead of concentrating on running the hotel. The way he fussed over towels and blankets came across as unprofessional. Clean towels and basic services are part of running a hotel, not things guests should have to hear constant orders about. Don’t be taken in by the photos.

Nahargarh fort is about 2 km behind the stay, and it’s a peaceful spot for visiting old jaipur(aamer). I stayed in the clean 6 in 1 dormitory, and the washroom was neat. There’s safe bike parking inside the premise, and the owner was helpful with an itinerary and guidance for seeing the city. Each bed has its own fan and light. The room feels quite bright because of the paint color.

Hostel Ivory was one of the best hostel stays we’ve had. The staff were warm and helpful, whether we needed directions, local tips, or just a chat. It was easy to get around from here, with major attractions, cafés, and markets well connected. We found the rooms and common areas spacious and comfortable, with a calm but social feel that worked for our group. The whole place was clean, well looked after, and welcoming, a nice place to unwind after exploring Jaipur. Good value for money, and I’d happily stay again.

The place felt secure and friendly. They really understand what travellers need, and that seems to be how they run things. Ask for what would make your stay convenient and talk it through with them.

The courtyard was my favorite part of staying at hostel ivory, a peaceful spot away from the city bustle. I had a great time there on kite festival day, and would recommend it to travellers looking for a quiet stay.
