Hotel Empire Regency

The first two days of my four-day booking weren't good. The room needed cleaning, service was very slow, and a cup of tea could take two hours. They also didn't change the bedsheet and pillow cover often, and the food choices were limited. The last two days were better: after I asked, they cleaned the room and improved the service.

Cold air came in through gaps under the door, and the uninsulated wooden floor and cold room made winter nights very uncomfortable. The bathroom had open windows that let in more cold air, leaving the floor too cold to walk on, and there wasn't even a mat. The old walls kept flaking. Hot water wasn't turned on until after 8 a.m., even though we had to catch a 9 a.m. flight. One day, coffee took over 30 minutes, so I left without any. The room conditions and service were pathetic. It was the worst experience I've had.

I stayed for two days and was comfortable. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The food was tasty and affordable. The hotel is near Jaipur's main markets, including Bapu Bajar and johri bazar.

I stayed for two nights on my own. Away from all the hustle, it's a nice hotel, and the rooms are quite spacious. But the service was really slow, and despite asking several times, my room wasn't cleaned during those two days. They use a centralized geyser from 7 to 11 a.m. If you need hot water, ask the staff and they'll arrange it in separate tubs.
