Hotel Shree Kanji Palace by OYO Rooms

The rooms were in a terrible state, and the staff’s behavior was completely uncooperative. Management was awful and the hospitality was third class. My money was a total waste. Please don’t go here.

We stayed here with family and paid Rs. 1200 per room, which already felt high. After checkout, they still tried to charge us for two days even though we left on time after one day. I later checked Google and OYO and saw that a deluxe room actually seemed to cost around 900, so it felt like we were overcharged there too. At night, cigarette smoke kept coming through some shared air shaft. I complained because my three-month-old was with me, but they blamed guests in other rooms and did nothing. The room smelled of cigarettes when we arrived, and the sheets and towels were dirty and smelled awful. They didn’t allow outside food and had no dine-in option, so we ordered room service while tired. Lunch took an hour and a half. The dal and paneer were average and the portions too small, while the rotis were so hard they took effort to bite. After that we avoided ordering more meals. We asked for tea at 6 in the morning and were told the kitchen opened late, so we’d have to wait two hours. Then we saw a staff member taking tea to another room, and they agreed to bring ours too. A horrible stay. I’m never coming back.

I’m checking out today. It’s probably okay for people here on business or work, but tourists should keep their expectations low. The AC was the one thing that worked properly. There was no WiFi, kettle, or geyser, and you had to ask ahead for hot bath water. The bathroom lock didn’t work properly and the drain got clogged. Our room faced the road, so it was very noisy.

I left my room key at reception while going out for work on the second day of a two-day booking, expecting them to clean the room. When I came back, there were lots of women’s hairs and dirty marks on the bedsheet. I suspect the room had been used for prostitution for an hour or two. It was a very bad first experience, and I’d never return. At checkout they pressured me to leave a five-star rating.
