OYO 17265 Hotel Kankariya

I travel often, and this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The manager threatened me when I asked for a concession of just Rs. 100 or 200, saying I had to pay the full amount or things would go badly for me. Nearby shopkeepers told me he was a mad man who might even fight or beat someone over 10 rs. He also used abusive words toward my family, especially the women, and showed no respect to them. There was practically no room service. The only worker would be drunk and asleep in his underwear in the shared lobby. At night he refused to provide blankets and sheets, saying the blankets were at the dry cleaner, so we had to arrange our own. The bedsheets were very dirty, and he refused to clean them. There was no water available, so we had to buy it outside. The AC had only an on and off switch, with no remote.

It’s centrally located, with essential places nearby, and very close to the airport. The outdoor area is limited because Mahal road is nearby. It can work well for small or large functions, such as parties, business meetings, or birthday parties. The catering is average, though the food is delicious and hygienic.

The website photos are heavily edited, and the rooms look completely different in person. We booked ahead through OYO, but at check-in the staff refused to give us rooms. After we complained for a while, they put us in their worst rooms. The reception staff were rude and didn’t know how to speak to customers. The AC didn’t work and the washrooms were dirty. My worst hotel experience so far, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The manager was rude and didn’t know how to treat guests. OYO removed its license and partnership with this hotel after customers left negative reviews. Even though the hotel no longer belongs to OYO, it still has OYO signs up. Please don’t book this place through OYO.
